Away 04:37
Can I go to Paris where Josephine Baker called home? First time I was introduced to France was Toblerone-- My teacher was wrong 'cause it was made by the Swiss "Je crois que non", but too young to question it Let me switch my tastes up, try some new food groups Fly to Lebanon & cop some homemade fattoush And UGH! I know it don't sound too good 'Cause they don't push it like its ice cream in your neighborhood Guess I'll fly to Italy to get a bottle of pesto Went to 5 grocery stores in the hood, I had to let go Thought about Canada, but heard it was cold But it's just ten hours driving, do it in the summer yo In your next class report, say you're going to Africa Some may point & stare, some might laugh at 'ya But if they knew the spirits they'd encounter they'd be backing you And when you come back, watch the questions they be asking ya Can I get away to see (AWAY) Something new for me Can I get away to see (AWAY) Something different than this scene So maybe I took you too far, bordelines I like to stretch So let me bring you back to comfort inside the US If you play video games to relieve your stress Try picking up a book the next time you're vexed If you find yourself listening to the same ol' music Throw on some Afro-Cuban, Celia Cruz will do it Pursue it, you got bigger dreams than your friends? Then move it, their season has come to to an end Increase your dividends and expand your business Try meditation as your new form of fitness Get this, try a new place eat Ina different part fo the city than down the street Check out a documentary, a foreign movie you might redefine what you used to find as groovy And as an artist, try to rock at new spaces Know when you art is stale so you don't wind up complacent Can I get away to see (AWAY) Something new for me Can I get away to see (AWAY) Something different than this scene Away-ay-ay-ay Time for me to CHANGE

Full Circle 04:01
Full Circle Damn boo, should this be called a twist of fate? I used to check for your sister’s man and now we date You were cute and young, thought you’d try to “set me up” But you loved me long time, I had to let up You taught me many things although five years younger Learned to never underestimate one man’s hunger I wondered, why you never budged from my side When people tried to judge me, you remained my “Clyde” I ain’t gon’ lie, still reminisce on those days We were like “fuck the world” Utopia’s our way But hey-hey-hey, how long can you live in a fantasy Reality struck and we still trapped in vanity The fact that you were Muslim, and your family hated me Forced you to choose between your woman and your family tree As karma would have it from prior infidelities You cheated on me, lesson received Chorus: When I close my eyes (when I close my eyes) I think of all the lessons I’ve learned (I’ve learned) The pain was real, it burned I’ve changed, I’ve come full circle (Repeat Once) Verse 2: Damn boo, you were fly as hell Although from first glance, most women couldn’t tell But I knew well, the workings of the “inner chi” Talked for hours at the venue and traded energies You were the sickest lyricist this sis had ever heard Captivated all my eyes, especially my third Say word, that’s why I put you on my album Cause us together’s like kryptonite and cum A power couple, we held church for the people If you were spinning records, then I’d attach the needle Fell in love with your spirit ‘fore I asked you more I assumed that you didn’t have a girl from the door What’s more when I found out, I didn’t even care Pretended that she didn’t exist ‘cause you were always there It’s clear, that my assumption was wrong Cause when she popped up pregnant, you were gone Repeat Chorus Verse 3: Damn boo, this gon hurt the worst Thought no man could ever hurt me worse than the second verse And how perverse, you didn’t even have a girl So I thought that I was saved when you came into my world Quirky and corny, hell, I like corny dudes The sex was passionate, so your other traits subdued But ooo, subdued a little too much Shoulda listened when you said you didn’t like “couple stuff” Nigga what? This lion rules this here And you ain’t gon be fucking me if you ain’t claiming me, dear Since that was clear, you became my man But it wouldn’t last long, Gemini’s don’t like to stand Still for too long or they begin to stray They’ll blow into your life and out the very next day But they’ll come back and forth like you did for 3 years Until the pendulum is broke and the end is clear Bridge: Thank you to all the men I’ve known Good or bad experiences, I’ve grown Come full circle to reflect alone Creator then gave ne love on a throne Repeat Chorus Repeat Bridge
9.
Abused 03:53
Abused Verse 1: Known for throwing marbles at her neighbor, spit balls with her paper They say she’s so mean, she doesn’t share her now n’ laters Their words are vapor, didn’t read the clues She holds her breath in when he does it, hoping she can turn blue You wouldn’t want to be her living scared to tell Teacher labels her rage a problem child from hell Well hide and go seek doesn’t seem so fun When your innocence been taken since the age of 1 Praying that her teachers mad, it’s her cry for help Not knowing after school detention really saves herself From 2 hours less of being awkwardly felt Don’t judge her by her actions, it’s the hands she’s dealt (but you don’t know) Chorus: You don’t even know what she’s been through (so don’t judge by the way that she walks) Cause she’s been abused (and you could never live the life she walked) You don’t even know what she’s been through (so don’t be blinded by the way that she smiles at you) Cause she’s been abused (and although happy some of her days are still blue) You don’t even know what she’s been through (and though she seems as though she’s got it together) Cause she’s been abused (and although tough, she’s still frail as a feather) You don’t even know what she’s been through (been violated for so long) Cause she’s been abused (and never told body she was wronged) Verse 2: Yo, fly girl, so popular in school, gets to high school then she starts dressing like a dude Her mama wonders what happened to her baby, did she not teach her the rules to being a lady? No prom, girl-talk and shopping at the mall, she’d rather hang with her dudes all night and play ball All this she said she’s always felt from birth, she’s different from the other girls who walk this earth Send her cries to her friends, cause her mama’s always working And when she’s off, she’s dealing with each and every jerk and Dick and Tom, ain’t got no time to be a moms Her neglect leads her daughter into a woman’s arms Oh the harm it does to leave a child alone Without assurance of a mother’s love, forced to be grown 18 years have now passed , now she’s coming out too Now that she’s a dude, can she get attention too? (but you don’t know) Repeat Chorus
10.
The Pulpit 02:38
The Pulpit Now before we even get started (POC disclaimer) They gon be some people mad about this here topic (So why don’t you stop it?) Cause I’m spitting what I feel May not apply to you but to a lot of folks its real People say keep this concealed, some things you shouldn’t question I musta missed church when they were teaching that lesson A blessing, yes I am, and didn’t learn that in church, And if you offended by what I just said, then the rest of this song’s gonna hurt worse “So go on ahead and turn it off before you get mad, now the rest of you let’s go” As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one Romans 3:10, now get a load of that one Romans 3:23, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God Can I get head nod and put down that façade So whether you sitting in the pew, or sitting outside this is true Divided by religious views but UNITED under the red, white and blue Chorus: (We be) Sitting in the pulpit, listening to the preacher spit I realize why people don’t go to church no more (We be) Sitting in the pulpit, listening to some bullshit I realize why my people don’t go to church anymore Repeat
